Ellie Goulding
Ellie Goulding was born Elena Jane Goulding in Hereford on December 30, 1986. Ellie Goulding, a British singer-songwriter who rose to fame in the year 2010 when her smash singles Guns and Horses and Starry Eyed caught public attention. Although she started out writing songs in a folk-inflected style, she eventually grew into a more electronic-influenced artist, touching upon dance music and ambient synth pop. Her unique soprano sibilance and knack for writing engaging, but emotionally honest tracks, Goulding, much like her predecessors Kate Bush and Imogen Heap has a place at the cutting edge of the current mainstream and artistic, non-conformist pop.Goulding quickly moved from blogs to print media, garnering recognition from major publications such as The Guardian and fielding offers from record companies. Polydor Records, a major music label, signed her and started making plans to release her debut album.
