Niykee's personal highlights include being selected by a scout to join Snoop in the YouTube Brandcast, in May 2013, and writing songs in spite of the chaos in the last couple of years. Young producer has been fascinated by Niykee. She constantly checks out the most recent beats. They often inspire songs. "I'll be able to discern in the first five seconds if it's a good beat. When I've got a melody in my brain I'll begin writing straight away." I go out to my backyard with my guitar, and then the lyrics appear and it's usually all done in under thirty minutes. As she continues develop her skills as a lyricist, Niykee explains that the hurt of her history is an unending source of ideas. Even when I'm not writing directly about events that have occurred to me, the trauma of my childhood and loss of my sister up getting pushed into my songs, she states. It influences my music and gives it a deeper meaning, which I find extremely important. I would like to be able to hear my songs in 20 years and be proud of my words.
